This is an Abstract of the Title of James Tompson to a dwelling house in Kings Buildings, Chester. The document is not dated, but the most recent event listed occurred in 1830 and the paper is watermarked 1828, so it seems fair to date it 1830 or shortly afterwards.
The Abstract begins in 1776 with the Will of William Walley in which he named his brother Richard Walley as Executor and left property to 3 daughters, Ann, Elizabeth and Mary.
Ann Walley married Spencer Tompson who duly acquired some of the property in an Indenture of 1806. By 1830 Spencer Tompson had died (having written his Will in 1810) leaving his property to his 2 sons Henry and James.
