Lt. John Tomlinson, 1775
I am looking for any information anyone can supply on a Lt John Tomlinson, who served in the Rev. War. According to the Pennsylvania Gazette he died on 5 Nov 1775 in Cumberland County, New Jersey and was "interred at the Seventh Day Baptist meetinghouse". Also the paper states that he served in "a Company of Rifelmen". Originally I thought all of this pertained to the cemetery at Shiloh, Cumberland County and a militia or Army unit from around there. But now I am not so sure since there is no record of him being buried at the 7th Day Baptist church at Shiloh. I also have learned that his wife's name was Phebe & that the had at least one son, Elijah.
Any additional information on this person would be greatly apprectiated; since he may or may not be related to my ancestor, James Tomlinson; who also briefly served as a Lt in a unit from Cumberland County during the Rev War.
