James Ervin Tomlin b.1835 in AL

I am seeking ancestrage of James Ervin Tomlin, who was born in 1835 in Alabama (possibly the Lamar/Fayette County area) and died in Millport, Lamar, AL in 1923. He married Cordelia Clementine Clines (Klein) of the NC/Germany Michael Cline/Klein line. He served in O'Neal's 26th Alabama Infantry during the Civil War and was captured twice, once at Chancellorsville and once at Gettysburg. I don't have any information about any siblings or parentage, other than that his father's name was reported to be James as well. He is my GG-Grandfather on my paternal grandmother's side. Any potential leads would be greatly appreciated. I know that there are many decendants of the line still in the Lamar and Fayette areas but all of my research dead-ends with him. Thank you!
