Thank you for sharing your research.
I would like to tie this South Carolina George TOMES to some family--possibly VA traders. He has a plat surveyed on the Pee Dee River (Welsh Baptist?); however, that survey was apparently invalidated and a new one was drawn up in Amelia Township SC for the same amount, 150 ac:

He received his grant and memorialized it.
I don't know yet if the following George DOM mentioned in the 1829 Edgefield Dist SC will of Peter OUZTS is the same man or not.

The name appears variably spelled as DAM, DOM, TOME, and TOMES--I've looked at THOMAS and perhaps, DORN.
His Amelia Township plat is bounded by land granted to Thomas ALLISON and Joseph LYONS (sold to Phillip POOLE, a miller).
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
