My hobby is researching the genealogy/family history of TOMES families and think I may be able to help. I have a large TOMES of KY pedigree that traces back to about 1754 in Virginia. It includes a Charles Marvin TOMES, born 20 Aug 1927 (not 1920 that you have) in Grayson Co, KY. He was a baptist church minister and I knew had died by March 2001. His wife was Betty Jean PORTER (don't know where you get the name MOSS from unless she re-married), born 26 Nov 1931, Jefferson Co. She wrote a book 'Thomas TOMS/TOMES & his Kentucky Kin' that I have a copy of. They married 10 Jun 1948 in Jefferson Co. As far as I know though they only had one child, a son, Michael Ray, born 2 Feb 1949, who married Janet Sue HUNTER on 27 May 1972. They have two children, Geoffrey and Melissa.
Does this help? If so, let me know and I can expand more. I am English & live in Somerset County in South West England. My email is, but not sure if this will get included when I send this message.
