I have Benjamin Tolson, b. July 23, 1693 in Northumberland Co., VA, d. Jan 27, 1759 in Stafford Co., VA as Judith's father, I also have Judith's siblings names and info.
Additional info about Benjamin: Birth date from St. Stephen's Register. He was born just three years before his father's death, according to the County Court Records. He lived in the area of Wicomico Sound, probably on a farm with other siblings. He married Mary (last name unknown), who was most likely a neighbor. His occupation was that of a farmer and fisherman, since he lived near the water. By the 1730's the sandy soil there was becoming unproductive due to wind and water erosion and constant planting without fertilization. Lands up the Potomac River in the Stafford area were being opened up for farming. Sometime in the 1730's, he took his family, probably by boat, up the Potomac to Aquia, a port on the Potomac in Stafford County. Many of their neighbors also moved there to lease land for tobacco farming.
Benjamin's will is dated Jan 27, 1759 and recorded in Stafford County Courthouse. He leaves his estate to his wife, Elizabeth, and makes special bequests to children Judith Stacy and Benjamin Tolson. Wills at that time frequently listed only the children who were to be left bequests.
