Hello Maxwell,
I don't know any of you, but it is very interesting that your name is Maxwell, because my brother's name is Maxwell also. I happened upon this website when doing a search on my name. This is interesting and I have been interested in researching my family history for a long time, even thinking of checking my ancestry using DNA to see what my ancestral makeup is...
My father is from Texas and his father's people were originally from the Samoan Islands and brought to (I think) the Tennessee area. The name was originally Talieferro, then at some point changed to Toliver.
