In the 1870 census of North Union, Fayette Co. PA there is a John Todd age 22 living with a Chuck family who had a daughter Marietta age 18.

Martha Chuck age 52 b. NJ
Marietta Chuck age 18- b. PA
Joseph W.Chuck age 15-b. PA
John Todd, age 22-b. PA- works on farm.

I noticed that in 1900 Joseph W Chuck- now married with a family and living in Stewart, Fayette Co. PA said that his father was born in England and his mother b. NJ- just like Thomas E. Chuck has entered in 1880.
I wonder if Martha Chuck had married again before 1880- it does appear that the Martha Bowen/Bower living with Thomas was his mother, as she was b. NJ.
Perhaps a search of the North Union or Fayette Co. records might be helpful.
