Dear Mrs. Netterfield,
I hope this does not strike you as too strange, but I think I am your fifth cousin.I have just discovered this message board, and your message struck home. Here is what I can tell you.I think you may see something familiar.
My great-great-great-grandfather was Andrew Wilson, born in County Londonderry, Ireland ca. 1790.He and his family settled in Willoughby Township, Welland County, Ontario.Andrew's sister, Isabel, was married to Thomas Todd.Although she died in Ireland, Thomas Todd and his children also settled in the Niagara Peninsula. When the Todds moved on to Walkerton, so did the Wilsons.
One of the children of Andrew Wilson was Margaret (born 1823).She married John Lamb, my great-great-grandfather.[To see what history I have of the Lamb Family, just click on the link below.]Margaret Wilson-Lamb was a first cousin of Hugh Wilson Todd (born 1826).
One of the children of Margaret and John Lamb was John Todd Lamb (born 1858).He would have been a second cousin of Thomas Richard Todd (born in 1854).To carry this further, my grandfather Roy Andrew Lamb would have been a third cousin to Clara Margaret Todd; and my father John Lamb is a fourth cousin to your father. Finally, then, you and I are fifth cousins. Our common ancestors -our great-great-great-great-grandparents- were the parents of Andrew and Isabel Wilson.Unfortunately I do not know there names.
I would love to hear from you to see what further information that you have on the Todds and Wilsons.
