My great grandfather was Marquis de Lafayette (Lafe) TODD, born in Stockton New York (Chatauqua County) 2/13/1837. He was last of 16 children of Bela (11/3/1785) and Lucy Hemenway (12/14/1791). Among his brothers was Edwin Porter, after whom my father was named. The other children were Ora Butler 1808, Lewis 1810, Lucy 1812, Eldridge Gery 1814, Cornella 1816, Lovina 1818, Matilda 1820, Hosea 1821,
Calab 1823, Philinda 1825, Electa 1826, Andrew Jackson 1828,
------LEVI GUDSIL 1830----------
Herman 1832, Edwin Porter 1833.
Several of the brothers emmigrated from New York to Plattsmouth Missouri before the Civil War. If he was Mary Emma Todd's ggf, then they are descended from Christopher Todd who came to Connecticut in the 1600's. For additional information on that Todd family, do a "search" on the Todd Forum for postings by Diana Thornton. She is the expert on the Christopher Todd lineage.
Good luck.
Nana Linda
