Since you mentioned Anna Amelia is from Montgomery Co., Ohio, I suspect there is a connection here.This Tobey line is very hard to trace.I'm descended from Maryetta, daughter of Michael Tobias Tobey.

Generation 1 Michael Tobey (Tobe) (1752 - 1790, Washington Co., MD) married Gertrude Charity Baker in 1779, Washington Co., MD.She was the daughter of Tilman Baker, the son of Col. Jacob Baker.

5. Michael married Magdeline (Magdalena) Miller.He was born near Boonsboro, Washington Co., MD 5/3/1789, she on 8/27/1792.
Generation 2: Michael Tobey (b. May 3, 1789)On Dec. 5, 1810, he married Magdeline Miller (b. Aug. 27, 1792), area of Boonesboro, Washington Co., MD.They are buried at Greencastle Cemetery, Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH.

June 26, 1819) on Feb. 14, 1836 (Valentine's Day), place unknown.She was the daughter of Christian Rohrer and Rachel Deaner.The Rohrers, of German descent, came from near Rohrerville, Washington Co., Maryland and moved to Ohio abt. 1834.Michael and Catherine moved from OH (Montgomery/Preble County area) to Coles Co, IL abt. 1852-55.Michael T. Tobey was a master carpenter and farmer and had one of the first houses in Mattoon, Coles County, Illinois.He was the first "president" of the village board.
