There are two BABBS in early Wilson County that seem to appear and then disappear. One is JOHN BABB who heads a household in 1820 (1 male under 10, 1 male 18-26, 1 male 26-45, and he 45 and over; 1 female under 10, 1 female 10-16,
3 females 16-26, 1 female 26-45, and his wife, 45 and over).
He does not appear in the 1830 census.
He is not the only JOHN BABB who appears in the deed books, because he lived and died in Franklin Co., NC.
But he is listed on the same page as Thomas Cook, Matthew Horn, Edward Morriss, John Dew, THomas Hunt, John Hunt, and Thomas Babb (a son of the Franklin Co., NC John Babb)...all related or associated with the Franklin Co. NC Babb family.
The other man is HENRY B. Babb who is bondsman for the marriage license of Thomas Babb to his second wife, Hicksey Hunt, 4-2-1821, by John Harratt, 4-3-1821. This Thomas is the son of Franklin Co., NC, John...A HENRY B. BABB appears in the 1830 Census of Henry Co., TN, 30-40 yrs of age, a wife 20-30, and 1 male 10-15, 1 male 5-10, 1 male and 1 female, under 5. He is also in the 1840 Census of Henry Co.
He is shown as being son of a JOHN BABB (b.ca. 1755, VA) in Ancestry.com. and wife, MEDIA BROWN.
