I am not sure who the parents of Mary born abt. 1806/07 and married James McCown are. The only thing I can tell you is that she was not the daughter of Benjamin and wife Cynthia Williams Clifton. The names I have compiled for William and wife Martha "Patsy" Tucker Clifton does not include a daughter, Mary in their household. That leaves Thomas and wife Letty Rogers Clifton who does have a daughter the right age group 1807-1815 for Mary to be their daughter but I just don't have the proof of that. Joshua Harris & wife, Hannah LNU Clifton have a daughter named Mary also but census records seem to indicate that she was not born until about 1810. Guardianship records in 1825 does not list Mary and two of her brothers (were they already gone and married?) but 1829 guardianship papers does list her. Sorry I can't be of more help... I feel sure she is the daughter of one of these Clifton families but haven't yet pinpointed it down. Terry
