Eddy, I don't know if I am connected to Branch or not, but 1850 census Carroll Co, Tn. shows Briant Branch 34, b. NC, wife Elizabeth 27, b. NC, children Sarah N 6, JTJ 5(may be the John T.age 15 on 1860?), Louisa, 3, as well as my G.G.Grandmother, Mary Ann Shepherd 37, b. NC, her son John G. 15, MO, and Willliam N. Crawford 8 b. Tn. in this home.
I found m. record in Madison Co, Tn, for Jesse B. Branch to Elizabeth Vinson on Oct.6, 1842. A will in Carroll Co for Jesse B. Branch dated 1852, rec.Oct. 1861 names wife Elizabeth, children; James Thomas Henry Branch, John Hugh Branch, Mary Sarah(Sarah N. or M?) Branch, and Lamyra (Louisa?) Cumi Branch. Witness was Alvin Rollins.

I also found m. record in Carroll Co, Tn. for Alvin Rowland to D. Vincent in 1846. Alvin Rollin shows on 1850 cen. Carroll Co as age 32, b. NC, wife Dorcas 26, b. Tn. They had no children.

By 1860; Braytn Branch is adjoining County of Henderson, wife Elizabeth, children Sarah M, John T., and Louisa.
My G. grandpa John G. Shepherd has married, has his own home in D.#3 with Christmasville Post Office, & his mother is now in his home.

Alvin Rawlins in D.#1, wife Dorcas and now they have added Emaline Vincent 17 (her sister?) and William Crawford 17 (laborer), from the Branch home in 1850? Could he be related to Branch & Rollins?

BY Alvin Rollins being a witness to the Branch will, and their wives sharing the same (?) name, Vinson/Vincent (maybe sisters?), I believe these 2 families are somehow related. I also believe Mary Ann Shepherd is sister to either the Vinsons, Briant Branch or Alvin Rollins. Plus, her son John G. Shepherd named his son William ALVIN (I have found no other "Alvin" in my research.) Maybe after Alvin Rollins? Hope this helps, and if you learn more on these families, please let me know. Betty
