Mathew (Matt) Mathews was my g.g.g.grandfather, born abt 1774 N.C.. He was in Wilson County, Tn. by 1820. He lived there through 1850 where he likely died . Seems to have lived around Lebanon, Tn. Yet, info on him & family is scant, although he lived there at least 30 years! Believe sons may be Samuel, b. 1801 N.C., Henry, b. abt 1800-1803 N.C., Isaac, b. 1803-1811 N.C., possible dau. Margaret, b. abt 1808 N.C.. Known son; Lasater R. Mathews (Mathis) b. abt 1820, Tn., m. Dany Morris 1842, she d. by 1848, m.(2) Patsy Ann Cook 1848./ children; Tresy T. b. abt 1842, Frances A., b. abt 1844, Elizabeth (Bettie) b. abt 1845, (married John Morris in Wilson),Samuel, b. abt 1847 and John W., J. Robert, Darthula C., Martha Ellen Mathews/Mathis.
T.T. & Frances my ancestors; Can anyone in Wilson tell me anything about all the others? Dany & John Morris said to be cousins and of strong Indian Heritage . Appreciate any help, Thanks, Betty
