Does anyone know of a place or area in Wilson County that is or was referred to as TISHOMINGO? My aunt read something to me one time about there being such a place in Wilson County (I think that's where it was) but I don't remember the details and cannot ask her now. We were told my great grandmother used to talk about having gone to Tishomingo but we were pretty certain she could not have been talking about either of the places of the same name in Mississippi or Oklahoma. It is extremely unlikely she ever left middle TN in her whole life. Though it would still be a mystery as to why she would have any reason to go to Wilson County, I would still like to know if there was such a place in Wilson County as Tishomingo and where it was and how it came to be called that. Thanks.
