my gg grandfather was herman e dyer born near old hickory, tn on 27 feb 1882 the last child of 10 born to isaiah washington dyer, c.s.a. and his wife martha a.f. " puss " glenn - isaiah washington was the fifth child of isaiah robert dyer ( 20 may 1808 richmons, virginia - died 15 jan 1857 rutherford county, tn ) the family came to the twelveth distrcit of rutherford in 1842 from williamson where they settled in 1812 -john dier came with wife lavinia brringing children that included isaiah robert dyer - john dyer of chesterfield county, va was the son of isham dyer and martha vaden - isham was the son of john dier who came from england prior to 1697 .
