According to what I have found, Samuel D. Echols was one of the sons of David Echols (Achols) and Letty Bradshaw. In 1870/71 in Williamson County, Samuel and his brother, John D. Echols, witnessed the pension application papers of Louisa B. Echols-Henry, their older sister (who is my ggg-grandmother).

Samuel also had a younger sister, Nancy, and two other brothers, Joseph, and Thomas M. Echols. Thomas served with the 128th and 9th Illinois Infantry Regiments during the Civil War.

New information suggests that the father of David Echols was probably John Echols of Sumner and Wilson Counties. John served in the War of 1812.

Do you know the name of Samuel's wife? Thanks.......
