Hi Kay,

To be honest, I don't know anything about my Joel Reed's parents. I've managed to trace him and his family back to 1850 Davidson County since that last post in 2006, but beyond that I have nothing on him. From the various census back to 1850, I've managed to figure out he was born abt 1820 and died sometime after 1870. He was married to an Elizabeth, who gave birth to the following children in Davidson County:

John Jefferson Reed [b. abt 1840]
Elizabeth Reed [b. abt 1842]
Catherine Reed [b. abt 1844]
William Reed [b. abt 1845]
Margaret Reed [b. abt 1846]
Joel Robert Reed [b. abt 1847]

1870 was the only census that found them outside of Davidson. They were in Williamson County then.
