Reita-

My initial tip was from someone else who was also researching the same line, but for a different child. I've since learned that my ancestor's name was Tennessee Jackson (Jack) Ferguson.

I have not personally linked Joseph Ferguson to Jack. That came from the other cousin doing research. I have been able to find a census record showing Jack, his wife Martha, my gggrandfather Richard, and his little sister Virginia. This is the only census record I've found so far putting them all together. Rumor has it that Jack left Martha. He later married Lovie Ann Brewer and had a bunch of kids with her.

Jack does have a Goodspeed biography, but he doesn't mention his first family. The Goodspeed bio lists his parents as Richard and Elizabeth Brogdon Ferguson.

I do have a lot of stuff on this line. I've recently received copies of Elizabeth Brodgon Ferguson's application for a widow's pension, based on Richard's service in the War of 1812. I also have Jack's pension application info from the Civil War (it was denied- there are lots of letters from him trying to get it approved)

If you e-mail me your address, I'd be happy to send you copies of my info. I'd love to get whatever you have.
