Since you mentioned a Peay connection, it is possible William's first wife was Media Ann Peay. She died young in about 1856 or so. I believe she is buried with the Peay family on Sumner's Knob. You might contact Virginia Bowman, the county historian. She is listed in the phone book on Lewisburg Pike.
