Staggs in Wayne County connection to Dyer County Staggs?

I've been researching my Staggs line from Dyer County for many years. Due to the fact that a lot of the records have been destroyed, my search has been rough.
I cannot go back past 1820. The reason I think there may be a connection is the names are pretty similar...Wm Staggs to a Nancy, Richard ,Hiram, George W. and many other similar names. They have also turned up in same counties in MO. and AR.

Would love to hear from anyone who feels they may have some answers , or can help me in any way.
