I am searching for Frederick Meredith born in the last quarter of 1700's. I was going through some papers my great aunt gave me 25 years ago and cannot figure how it connects to my Meredith lineage.
In brief, comments about a James Meredith in Virginia working as a powdermaker. Had a son James Thomas Meredith born abt. 1790 who married a Mary Funston and moved first to South Carolina then Alabama. Sometime after the birth of the youngest child 6-11-1824 Mary Funston died and James decided to move to Waynesboro, Tn. He died enroute and was buried along side the road in Alabama. The children stayed with family unitl the oldest Rebecca married Thomas Kerley, they went to Illinois. Anyone know anything about this James Thomas Meredith?
