On page 184 of "Joseph Vick of Lower Parish, Isle of Wight County, Virginia and His Descendants" it says "[?] Susannah Jane (name uncertain)5, b. ca. 1783; d. ca. 1821 in Davidson County, Tennessee. She probably m. AARON DEAN about 1803 in North Carolina. Children surnamed DEAN: 1. William, b. ca. 1801, d. 1850 (m. Minerva Gower); 2. Moses Perry, b. 6 March 1804, d. 22 December 1857 (m. Mary Binkley); 3. Aaron Thomas, b. 5 May 1808 (m. Narcissa Binkley); 4. Elizabeth, b. ca. 1815 (m. Joel Vick); 5. Sarah b. ca. 1818 (m. Alexander Biggs); 6. Robert, b. 13 November 1820, d. ca. 1909 (m. Melinda Falsone).23"

The "[?]" indicates that her line is unproven. It is given as Susannah Jane5, Robert4, Nathan3, Robert2, Joseph1. On page 184 it also says "Robert's {indicating Robert4} children are speculative. Census records indicate he may have fathered a dozen or more children. Based on buyers at the estate sale and on the joint sale of land by William and Robert, James A. Vick has constructed this partial list....22"

Note 5 is Sampson Co. Deed Book 8:75, Register of Deeds, Clinton, NC.

Note 22 is James A. Vick, "Vick, Robert, Son of the Immigrant Joseph Vick: An Account of Some of His Descendants [Waco, TX: The Author, 1990], 66-73.

Note 23 is "The descendants of this family can be traced in Melba Wood, "My Maternal Ancestry II [Chesterfield, IL, 1987], 4-6."

Regards,

Larry
