I am researching the WHITSONS in Tennessee and believe me when I say that every branch on the Whitson tree has a son named JAMES! This JAMES was born circa 1793 (according to the 1850 Census)possibly in Washington County. The first Document that I find on him is his marriage certificate on 29 Aug 1832 to MARY TONEY. The only other documnent I find is the 1850 Census in Jefferson County with MARY and 7 Children (a son named James, of coarse) and a mother-in-law. Does anyone have any information on JAMES and MARY before 1832 or after 1850? I would appreciate any clue.
