Charles Huskins or Hoskins and Matilda Smith
Posted by: Sara Hoskins Sheppard (ID *****6013) Date: June 05, 2012 at 10:58:37

I'm trying to find my grandfather and great grandparents. My grandfather was Walter Hoskins (maybe William Walter) born may 1892 in Washington or Unicoi county. His parents are listed on his death certificate as Charles Hoskins and Matilda Smith but I can't find them anywhere. Walter appears in about 1922 age 30 in North Carolina and marries my grandmother Nellie Grindstaff. The story he gave was both his parents died before he was 10. He was taken in by a relative until about age 14. He left them and never went back. I can find a Walter and a Charles Huskins in that area but no Hoskins and no Matilda Smith. Any info would be appreciated as I've been searching for a long, long time!
Thanks,
Sara Hoskins Sheppard
