First Sherrills to Tennessee
Posted by: Renea Burkholder (ID *****9076) Date: February 15, 2010 at 10:42:55
  of 1080

In 1775 the following Sherrills sign a petition to the congress of NC:Samuel Sr., Samuel Jr., Urias, Adam, John, and George. These are Samuel Sr., head of the family and all his sons with one exception. William does not sign. Why did William not sign? Was he too young? Had he already left for GA?
Just 3 years later, a Martha Sherrill enters for a 100 acre grant which borders land of Phillip Sherrill that he also pays tax on.
Who are Martha and Phillip Sherrill?
