Gwen, First of all you need to look in Washington Co., TN. Unicoi was part of Washington Co., TN until 1876 when Unicoi became a county. I only have access to 1860 and 1870 census reports. I do not find a Abraham Tinker, who you have listed as Philip P Tinker's father. Maybe someone else has access to Washington Co 1850 census. In Washington Co., TN census for 1860 I found the following: dwelling #984 TINKER, Philip P. 28, Ann H. 20, Margaret 3, and James H. 1 near by at dwelling #998 is: TINKER, John 30, Sarah M. 33, Nancy J 5, Mary E 3 and James A,5/12 (maybe this is a brother of Philip P.) at Dwelling 973 there is: TINKER, James 55, Nancy 52, Sarah J 21, Mary A 18, Rachel 15, Nancy E 13, and Margaret 6 at first I thought this James could be father of James. However in another post you indicate Abraham as the father, so maybe this is an uncle. In the 1870 census for Washington Co., TN I find the following: District #18 (this is near Clear Branch which is now part of Unicoi Co., but district 18 is still in Washington Co.) Dwelling 3 TINKER, Phillip 39, Ann H. 31, Margaret 12, James 10, John M 8, Mary A. 6, Phillip 3, and Sarah D, 1 Gail Notify Administrator about this message?
