I know this will sound like a silly question, but are you sure you have all the details right on your husband's uncle, Samuel Edwards? Reason I ask is because I thought I could help you out. I happen to index the Johnson City Press obituaries for the rootweb database, Obituary Daily Times, so I looked up his name there (Johnson City often runs Erwin and Mountain Home obits), but found nothing. To check, I looked at the SSDI on rootsweb, but didn't find your husband's uncle's data there, either. I then searched for an Edwards by date of birth you gave, but nothing...then searched by month and year of death, and didn't find anything. If you find updated info, let me know, and I will take a look and see if I can help.
