I am searching for the descendants of Judge Samuel E. Stephenson of Covington , Tipton Co., Tennessee in the hope of exchanging photographs. Judge Stephenson, widower, was married to my gg-aunt Annie Barnett Chapman, the daughter of John H. and Damaris L. Shelton Chapman.

The following were in the household in 1900:
Samuel E. Stephenson b. Sept., 1846 in South Carolina lawyer
Annie Barnett Chapman Stephenson b. May, 1864 in Tennessee
Samuel E. Stephenson jr b. December, 1880 Tennessee son
Efford Stephenson b. August, 1882 Tennessee son
Nancy Cotton b October 1869 TN cook
Sallie Cotton b. April 1892 TN
??? Cotton b. March 1897 TN

My gg grandmother , Damaris L. Shelton Chapman, Annie Barnett Chapman Stephenson and my g-grandfather , Richard Thomas "Tom" Chapman , resided in Covington after 1872. Damaris Shelton Chapman and the Stephensons are buried in Munford Cemetery, Tipton County, TN. Richard Chapman is buried in Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY

Prior to moving to Covington in about 1872, the Chapmans lived in Fayetteville, Lincoln County, TN,where Damaris Chapman taught music in a private boarding school and her husband John H. Chapman made furniture. Other residences moving backwards in years were Monticello, Drew Co., Arkansas ( resided with Joseph and Nancy Gillespie Shelton) , and Huntsville, Yadkin County, North Carolina , the home of John H. Chapman. Damaris L. Shelton was born in 1825 in Stokes County, North Carolina, the daughter of Richard Shelton and Frances/ Fanny Jones Barnett.

I have a few photos of Annie Stephenson and Judge Stephenson. I would appreciate contact with Judge Stephenson's descendants who might have a photo of my gg-grandmother and other siblings of Annie Barnett Chapman Stephenson who died before moving to Tipton County or other Sheltons as there were Shelton siblings of Damaris Shelton Chapman and their children living in Covington over the years.

Richard Thomas Chapman left Covington and worked for Carter Dry Goods in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. From about 1958 until the early 1970's my grandmother, Hattie Lee Chapman Conover, was a resident of Covington and lived in a home on Maple.

Thank you.
