Mrs. Alice Mockbee of 719 Jackson died at 7 last night. She was 83. Services will be held at 2 Friday afternoon at National Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park. Mrs. Mockbee leaves a son, F.F. Mockbee of Brownsville, Texas, and a brother T.J. Fain of Southside, Tenn. (Published in The Commercial Appeal 4-28-1954)
Mockbee - At Methodist Hospital, Saturday morning, April 6, 1946, at 10 o'clock, James H. Mockbee, aged 27 years. Son of Mrs. Mattie C. Mockbee of Memphis. Brother of Norman Mockbee of Arkedelphia, Ark. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. Dr. Robert G. Lee will be held at the Cosmopolitan Funeral Home, 1900 Union Ave. this (Sunday) afternoon at 1:30 o'clock. Friends are invited. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Brownsville, Tenn. Mockbee of New York, N.Y., Juanita Reed and Clarence H. Mockbee Jr.; son of Mrs. Alice G. Mockbee, all of this city; brother of Herbert Mockbee of Montgomery, Ala., and Edward Mockbee of the United States Army, Camp Hood, Texas. Funeral services conducted by the Rev. D.M. Renick will be held at the National Funeral Home, 1177 Union Avenue, tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon at 2:30 o'clock. Friends are invited. Interment in Memorial Park.
