Newspaper Stories "1942 Murder Investigation"

Hello, I need to know how I can get copies of or transcriptions of some news stories about a fire in Memphis on Nov. 29, 1942. My uncle Virgil D. RANKIN`S obit (in the Covington Leader Tipton Co.TN.) said that he died of smoke inhalation in a fire at the Mayers Truck Lines warehouse in Memphis. But my mother and aunt said that he had been murdered and that there was an investigation. I need to know what the papers in Memphis had to say about the fire and his death. I`d also like to know what if any information came out of the investigation. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Glenda Middleton
