Seeking documentation for the father of John A. Davis. His mother was Alicy Elliott. A traditional family story said that she either married a Davis or had a child by a Davis in Douglas Co. MO. Present-day researchers are saying that the father came from the Joseph Davis famiy. Which son was it and what is the proof that it was THIS Davis family?
