Doctor Mayburn L. Tate 1845-1923
Several weeks back, a lady called me inquiring about Doctor Mayburn L. Tate and his father Aaron Tate, Jr. She failed to mention that it was Aaron Jr. and some confusion arose because my 3rd great grandfather was Aaron, Sr. and Maben Doc Tate was my 2nd great grandfather. I gave her my E-mail address and expected to hear back from her but she may have misunderstood or lost it. I am writing this because I did find the old USGS map that shows Tate Cove in DeKalb Co., AL - I had saved on a Word Document.
Tate Cove was so named for Aaron Tate, Jr. It was subsequently renamed and thus some history was removed from a public document. I believe that this lady's father recently died and her maiden name was Tate.
