Overstreet P. Garrison

I am searching for information on Overstreet P. Garrison b. abt. 1825 in TN. Moved to Saline Co. IL before 1850 with wife Martha ? They show one daughter in 1850 Saline Co. Census, Lucretia age 1. They must have been expecting a son James L. Garrison (my 2nd great grandfather) as he is shown to be born abt. 1850. Overtreet was a teacher and probably died before 1857 as it appears Martha Garrison marries a Lemuel Poe in Saline Co. and in the 1860 Census they show a son James L. (unfortunately 8 years and listed as Poe, I believe this is census taker or giver error) I think this should be James L. Garrison. No other James L. Garrison shows up in the 1860 but he does reappear in later census as a man with family in Saline Co.

The reason I am posting this on the Overstreet forum is that I am having no luck with the Garrison searches. And Overstreet, being a rare given name I am speculating that maybe his mother would have been an Overstreet and gave him her surname for a given.

If anything rings a bell or you have ideas to explore further please let me know.
