I have a copy of a letter that was sent from my great grand uncle (William Alonzo Boone)to my great grandfather (Charles Franklin Boone)while attending some school in MURFREESBORO, Tenn. in 1871 .

"We have four Proffessors (sic) who are well educated and nice men, one is a Prof. Of Languages, one of Mathematics, and two of the Junior classes. I am highly pleases with the Proffessors (sic) of Languages and _______which is an introduction for preparing and delivering of sermons. I recite five lessons every day besides my algebra. We have a fine school now and some nice young men. The number of students in all us for as I remember is about one hundred and forty."

He also mentions a Woman's college that is nearby.

I am trying to find out which college he attended.
Someone mentioned a school named "Suanne" ?? does that sound familar?
