My grandmother wrote that her mother, Eliza Ann Smith, d/o George Washington Smith and Lucinda Holder, was "born 4-5-1848 near Jonesbur, Tenn. near Murphysburo Tennesee". Another place she wrote, "April 5, 1848 Jonesbur Tenn - near Murphys-buro". I am unable to locate Murphysburo in TN. (There is a Murfreesboro.) There is a Jonesborough in Washington Co, TN at the other end of the state from Murfreesboro.
Does anyone have a source that whould indicate where "Jonesbur" or a place with a similar spelling might be found in Rutherford Co?
