I am a descendant of James Blackman and Elizabeth Oates and can give you some information concerning that line. I don't have information on all the children.

James and Elizabeth's son Alfred married Elizabeth Crawford in 1809. They had around 14 children. Their son, Lazarus Crawford Blackman married Virginia America Smith in 1845.

Lazarus and Virginia's son, Alfred Watson Blackman, Sr., married Mary Anna Bass in 1866. They had 9 children: George Bass, Eliza (Lida) House, America Smith, Alfred Watson, Jr., Andrew Jackson, Mary Anna, Fannie Ransom, Bessie Elizabeth, and Lillian.

Eliza House Blackman married Caswell Moore Miles, Jr.; Mary Anna Blackman married Charles Batey; America Smith married Henry Huddleston; Bessie Elizabeth married a Mr. Oldham; and Lillian married a Mr. Bell. I don't have who the boys married.

Alfred Watson and Mary Anna Bass Blackman are buried in the Bass cemetery in the Blackman community in Rutherford County, TN.

Hope this helps!
