Nancy Kendrick Short and Willis Short are buried in the Kendrick Cemetery. The following information is from the "Cemeteries of Roane County, Tennessee, Rockwood, VolumeIII": From the intersection of Highway 27 and Wheeler Street, travel east on Wheeler Street (which becomes Eurika Road) for about 2.1 miles and turn left onto New Hope Road. Travel on New Hope Road for about 2.0 miles and turn right onto a road that takes you to the cemetery. Listed 12 Nov 1986. This cemetery is also known as the Hembree Cembree or Kindrick Cemetery. It is my understanding that when the waters rose on Watts Bar Lake some graves had to be moved. Nancy's grave was moved and identified but I don't believe that Willis' grave has been identified since it was moved. Also, the farm is mostly underwater with only a a well or spring still visisble. Right now I don't have my source on this handy. I also have the names and dates for Edom and his wives and children for those who may not have them. Marj. Notify Administrator about this message?
