I really, really, need some help on this family. I have some family pictures that was given to me years ago of this family, over 100 pictures, and I want to share them. If ANYONE from any of these family-lines would contact me I will make arrangements to show and share them. Sarah L.? Lucinda? "Cinda" BUSSELL-FORD-OAKS Born Aug 3, 1882, and died, it is believed, sometime between 1914 after her last child was born, and 1920? NOTE: Her exact name, date of birth and death, or place of burial, is not known at this time. BIG QUESTION: Who were her (Sarah? Lucinda "Cinda" Bussell) real parents for sure? If ANYONE has ANYTHING that might help, I would be grateful and would love to share genealogy and pictures with you. CONTACT: E. Ray Austin, (423) 663-2333. NOTE: I can't be 100% sure this information is correct because it has been passed on to me. I have been told that her name was possibly: Sarah Lucinda "Cinda" Bussell, as seen in different documents, but I don't know for sure. NOTE: Mrs. Wilma Ruth (HOWELL) Boylin, of Nashville, TN, states the following: "My grandfather, Thomas Bussell, never had a girl named Sarah Lucinda Bussell, the one referred to in some research and found in the 1900 and 1910 Putnam Co. TN Census. Perhaps, this Sarah Lucinda was born out of wedlock, or perhaps she was a daughter of another of the Bussell family members and was raised by Thomas and his 1st wife, Lucy (SPEARS) Bussell? Until more data becomes available it cannot be determined who she was exactly. My Aunt Celia and Aunt Mary never mentioned her (Sarah Lucinda Bussell) nor has any of our folks ever heard of her." MARRIAGE: 1st Marriage: A marriage request was dated October 13, 1900, Putnam County, TN, and recorded at Putnam County Court House in Cookeville, TN. This document was witnessed by a W. W. Ford. The Certificate of Marriage request was signed by both J. E. Ford and Lucinda Bussell. Three kids were born to this marriage; William Thomas, Pearlie Ann, and Benton Webster FORD. MARRIAGE: 2nd Marriage - December 21, 1907, Putnam County, TN. Recorded at Putnam County Court House in Cookeville, TN., in Book 4, page 435, a Certificate of Marriage request signed by both Norman Oaks and Miss Cinda Bussell. One child was born in this marriage; Norman Pleas OAKS...NOTE: Why did she sign her name as Bussell, rather than Ford, if she was just recently widowed when her husband J.E. Ford passed away? Is this common for that time period? NOTE: Sarah Lucinda "Cinda" Bussell had another son named Carl Henry Crain, born July 19, 1914, after her 2nd husband Norman Timothy Oaks was killed on Feb. 22, 1909. It is assumed that Carl Henry Crain just took the name of his father? SOURCE-BIRTH-DEATH: The date of birth and death of Sarah Lucinda "Cinda" Bussell is speculated. Her son, Carl Henry Crain, told me, E. Ray Austin, that he was about 6 months old when his mother Lucinda died, so that would make her death around December 1914 or later. The 1910 Census for Putnam County, TN shows Cinda Oaks as 26 years old, widowed, married twice, and home with her mother, Luan Bussell. She also has with her 4 of her kids. In this 1910 Census, she was back home with her mother because Norman Timothy Oaks (2nd husband) had been killed on Feb. 22, 1909. DEATH-NOTE: After the death of her 2nd husband on Feb. 22, 1909, she had a son named Carl Henry Crain born on Jul 19, 1914. Carl was born in a place called Cave?, in Van Buren County, TN, and this would put his mother's (Lucinda) death after the 1910 Census of Putnam County, and after the birth of her last child Carl Henry, but before the 1920 Fentress County, TN Census, which list all her kids as well as her mother, but not her, indicating that she was probably already deceased by this 1920 Census. W, M, 5/12, Son TN, TN, TN (About 5 months old) NOTE: According to the 1880 Census, this is the family with 1st wife of Thomas, named Lucy SPEARS. Between this 1880 Census and 1900 Census, there is another female named Sarah L. "Cinda" Bussell born August 3, 1882 and living with her mother, Lucy, as indicated by the 1900 and 1910 Census of Putnam County, TN. Thomas and Lucy were probably divorced by this time because the 1900 and 1910 Putnam County TN Census shows Lucy as head of household with her kids, to include this Sarah L., born about 1882. BURIAL-NOTE: Burial location is unknown. It would seem that she might be buried in Fentress County, possibly Wilder or Davidson, since she was living there at the time of her death it is believed. According to a George W. Bussell, he states that Lucy Spears, Lucinda (Cinda) and sister Ova, are buried in the B. Christian Cemetery in Silver Point, TN.? (I, E. Ray Austin, have searched this cemetery without any luck unless they are in unmarked graves. ----------- Not sure, but it is believed she may be buried in the Boma or Silver Point area of Putnam County TN, possibly in an un-marked grave where her 2nd husband, Norman Timothy OAKS is buried, in the Sadler-Tucker Family Cemetery on Anderson Ridge, or possibly in a BUSSELL Family Cemetery somewhere else??? Only a guess. NOTE: Contact me, E. Ray Austin, ScenicPhoto@Highland.net, (423) 663-2333. Notify Administrator about this message?
