Delorese, I beleive it is possible that we are on the same family trail. In the 1850 census for Bradley Co., Tenn. I found an Irby and Polly Thompson living next door to a Richard and Martha Thompson. Irby and Polly were about age 24 and did not have any children. I could not find an Irby either before or after 1850 in the census other than I did find both Irby Thompson and Richard Thompson in the same military unit in the Civil War. Do you think Irby was killed in the civil war? Is it possible that Richard and Irby were either brothers or cousins? I am lookin for Richard and like Irby, I can't find him before or after the 1850 census. I believe he was killed during the war. In 1870 , I find Martha and their three little girls in Rhea County, Tn. I believe she might have gone there to be near her family but since I don't know her maiden name, I don't know who her family might have been. Somewhere I have some info. on some Williams and Thomas' but will have to search. It might be a few days before I get back to you on them as I am trying to reorganize lots of paper work. Hope to hear from you soon and that perhaps with both of us working together we can find our family.
Regards, Wanda Ingram
