John White, father of James Pleasent White

My name is Sue Lackey and my gr. gr. grandfather was James Pleasent White, b. March 5, 1841 in Knox Co, TN. He moved to Coles County, Illinois in 1856. There he met Mary Jane wade, they married November 22, 1865 in Cooks Mill, Coles County, Illinois. They had 5 children. He died March 10, 1914 in coles county, IL. He is buried at the Mt Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. On his deathe certificate ist states that his father was John white of Tennessee.

I have a 1850 census of Monroe County, TN with a WHITE, John 24, Polly 25, James 8, John 4, William 3. This fits the dates and aes of the family Iam looking for.

Since the Whites settled in Knox County after the Revolutionary War on General White's awarded property and this included Knoxville, TN.

I'm hoping that someone else is researching the same family and is able to help me in this matter.

Thank you,

Sue Lackey
