Re: GOTCHER - Coffee, Franklin Co., Tn.

There was a Henry Gotcher and wife Martha (Patsey)b.1778 that were members of the Sweeton Cove Primitive Baptist Church in Marion Co., TN at the time it was founded in 1821.
We suspect Martha was a McBee before her marriage. If I remember correctly they later moved to GA and are burried in GA, I think in Dade Co.
They may have moved sometime around 1840-42 since this is when Martha's suspected brother Samuel goes to Dade Co. GA
Our Obadiah McBee moved around Franklin, Marion and Coffe counties so maybe your Gotchers did too.
BTW I'm told that the name Gotcher and the name Gudger may be one and the same and we have some Gudger folks tied into our McBee lines too.

Hope this is some help to you!

Jean P. McBee
