Robinsons of Roane Co., TN
I am looking for information on the family of Elijah Robinson. Elijah was born in Kentucky. He married Amelia Hardeman in Roane, TN in 1836, and later moved to MO, whre he lived in LaClede (1850), Dallas (1860), and Barry counties. He and his family left for Texas in 1861. There was a Joseph Robinson who was on the first grand jury impanelled in Roane County, TN in 1811, for the Ails trial. I don't know if they were related. Elijah had a brother Wesley, who may have preceded him in coming to Texas. According to a family history book, with very sketchy information, there were 11 brothers...three were Confederate soldiers (including Elijah) during the Civil War and the others fought for the Union.
