A Question For Mount Pleasant History Buffs (Maury County).

What ever happened to "Red" Russell, the famous lawman who came to Mt. Pleasant in the late 1800's to clean up the town?
He was "ran out of town" in 1901 for harrassing the black residents, but where did he go?
Do you have any old family stories handed down about "Red" Russell?

Any info. on this legendary lawman would be appreciated!

Hudson Alexander.
