Acre, Acker, Acree, Acren NC>TN 1800's

Looking for any information on the Acre, Acree, or Acren family who resided in Madison County and Haywood County Tennessee. Thomas Acre is my wife's 2nd great grandfather. His ancestry is a difficult one to track. His name was spelled Acree on the 1860 Census, Acre on the 1870 census, Acre on the 1880 Census and Acren on the 1900 Census. All of these were in Madison except for the 1880, which was in Haywood County TN.

I know his wife had the initials of M.E. and that his children included Ida who was born about 1872, William born about 1875 and Harvey who was born about 1876. All were born in Tennessee.

Ida married a Clarence Brewer, but was widowed by the 1900 census of District 4 in Madison County, TN.

According to the 1900 Census Thomas' father and mother were from North Carolina.

Does anyone have anything on this family?

Any information will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Danny Cook
