Mary L. Flournoy Cook Book

My mother recently passed away and in her possession was a Mary L. Flournoy Cook Book. The book has no date or biographical information. One clue: Quite a few of the advertisements in the book state Memphis, Tennessee. A library in Texas has a copy and states that it was published in 1957, but after an inspection of their book, it appears that this date was taken from an advertisement of another book the publisher was pushing. I would guess that this book may be from the 1940s.

I would like to know who Mary L. Flournoy was. I would also like to know her lineage.

I am a descendant of Jacob Flournoy so I am sure that this book has some bearing on that name.

My mother was an avid genealogist, but I did not know she possessed this book and was unable to ask her any questions about it before she died.
