PRICE & JONES, cir. 1860-70s
Hello, I'm trying to locate the descendants of PETER PRICE and his wife, FANNIE JONES PRICE. They were both born in about 1840, may have been originally from TENNESSEE or Alabama, and were married during the 1860s. According to Fannie in the 1900 U.S. Census, they had four children together with possibly two others who were deceased at that time.
The only child (of the four) that I have found is a son named WILEY PRICE who was born in 1869 (location unknown), and he married MITTIE or MINEY McCOY in 1890. They lived in Neuville, in Southern Shelby County, Texas, just across the county line, Northwest of San Augustine, Texas.
In 1873 at the age of 33, Fannie married a man named MOSLEY BLUFORD in San Augustine, Texas. They lived in San Augustine until about 1888 at which time they bought some land and moved to the White Rock community (just a few miles NE of San Augustine on FM 353 aka Patroon Road). She had 3 children with Mosley which I have found.
Fannie was the daughter of Ned (d. 1877) and Jennie Jones (d. 1887) who were both originally from North Carolina, and they were living in San Augustine County in 1867 (possibly as early as 1856).Jennie was living with her daughter Zilla in San Augustine in 1880.
Fannie died in about 1903 (location and cemetery unknown, presumed in San Augustine County). Fannie's siblings were Zilla, Elizabeth, Mary Jane (m. Clabe Greer, Sr.), Wesley, (all born in Arkansas) and Mack T., Betsy (m. Mose Chumney), Jane, Jack, Bill, Fanny #2, Horris, Martha, and R.H.It is believed that some, but not all, of Fannie's siblings lived out their entire lives in San Augustine County, Texas and/or the surrounding area.
I have neither any vital information on Peter nor his ancestors.I don't know where or what caused he and Fannie to part, or what happened to their other children, just that she shows up in the marriage records in San Augustine County, Texas in 1873, four years after Wiley was born.
Peter may have had a sister or sister-in-law named HARRIET PRICE who was born in January of 1830 in TENNESSEE, and whose family was from TENNESSEE.Harriet was living with Fannie and Mosley in San Augustine in 1900.
Any help or information in locating and identifying the other five children of Peter and Fannie Price, and where their descendants might live today, would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
