This military history could be correct, but there were 3 problems with it that bothered me. The first was this same record I got from the National Archives that sais he enlisted at the age of 23 and in 1861 he was really 30 years of age. He could have lied about age, but why? He also was given a 1st Lt commision when he was just a farm laborer? Also, I found a story written by the same man of an incedent that happened during the war and he went to Texas. I know my ancestor never went to Texas.
This still could be my ancestor.

Thanks
