Two possibles in 1850 census a James Whitaker with dau. Elizabeth b: 1838, in Cherokee, North Carolina and one with dau. Elizabeth b: 1848 Wake, North Carolina, if Elizabeth's mother was listed on death certificate it would make this much easier.
